The seven "O" Antiphons are used with the Magnificat at Evening Prayer during the octave before Christmas Eve, a time referred to as the "Golden Nights". Each antiphon begins with "O" and addresses Jesus with a unique title that comes from the prophecies of Isaiah and Micah. The "O" Antiphons not only bring a greater intensity to our Advent preparation; they also bring it to a joyful conclusion.
