The Conical chasuble is made of one length of cloth cut in a slightly oblique half circle and closed with a center seam. As a result it has less lateral movement than the more common form that has two shoulder seams.. This means that the Presider needs to know how to wear it with an unselfconcious grace. There are those who believe that the conical should be worn with half of the folds in front and half in back.. I follow the manner proposed by Sr. Augustina Flueler in her book, Das Sacrale Gewand, and described here.
When walking in procession
When making the Sign of the Cross
The Orans Position: This con be considered the default position because one could wear the chasuble in this manner for the entire celebration.
When sitting
When giving Communion
